The International Festival Young Lions is one of the greatest annual events of the Bunker Institute, which attracts the top performing artists from all over the world to Ljubljana at the end of every summer. And this year was no exception. The Young Lions Festival is the perfect meeting point and place of surprises, where both domestic and foreign artists and guests like to stay throughout the festival, enjoy the art and discuss the latest artistic or social themes. It is a place where new ideas, friendships and collaborations that often go beyond the local concepts and boundaries are exchanged and formed. The opening of this year's Festival was something special – it was initiated by the falling dominoes throughout the Tabor district. The falling of the dominoes was followed by the opening Maps of Wishes (Zemljevidi želja), under which hid the three installations by the team from Belgrade that goes by the name “Škart”, who added the fun factor to the artistic value and created sculptures from recycled materials that serve at the same time as play facilities for the young and the old. The festival hosted more than 50 foreign and domestic artists, and most of them were accommodated at the PARK HOTEL in Ljubljana, which is on the route taken by the falling dominoes.
