Plesna Vesna – »Festival« of young European dance production (11th Of February 2012)

On 11th of February 2012 Cultural Centre Španski Borci in Ljubljana is hosting established BLOOM! Dance Collective featuring Hungarian artists with their performance "TAME GAME", Hungarian artist Milán Újvári with his solo performance “From the waltz till the mambo”, and Howool Baek, Korean living in Berlin, with her solo "NOTHING for body".

Their performances will be presented within the February edition Plesna Vesna Festival, a festival of young European dance production that premiered last March as a three-day event in five venues in Ljubljana. The festival, organised by the European Aerowaves networkand EN-KNAP Productions, received great attention from both media and public for the innovative and topical production it presented, while EN-KNAP received great praise for its high standards of organisation by media as well as artists, international producers and promoters that attended the festival.

With a revised concept, each year Plesna Vesna will bring to Ljubljana its overview of the most exciting, fresh, inventive and extravagant European contemporary dance production in both Spring and Autumn. Out of as many as 430 works that were sent to the Aerowaves network this year, over 10 will be shown in several instalments within Plesna Vesna this year, selected by the Slovenian representative in the network, Iztok Kovač, the director of both EN-KNAP Productions and Španski Borci. Plesna Vesna thus aims to become a synonym for an overview of current young European dance production.
